Alchemy & Wordsmithing

This is a creative area for writers, first and foremost. Eventually there will be book reviews, writing information, prompts, and anything else that I can think of that would be worth sharing. So, now for the questions!

Are there two people writing here, or is there one with a split personality?

It’s only one person for now, but I firmly believe that each writer has an inner Alchemist and a Wordsmith inside of them. Every writer will need to do some editing to their writing, but at the same time, they must have something written to be edited. You can’t edit what you haven’t written. I know many writers who embrace one aspect over the other, and I want this blog to help shore up both.

Who are you and why should I listen and/or care?

I’m one of many writers in the world. I’m one of many editors in the world. Most of this blog is actually for me – I can collect writing advice that I need, and at the same time, I can make it more accessible e to others. This does mean that there will be typos in this blog. I’m human, and I will try to squash them all, but mistekes happen, right?

Why is your name CoffeeQuills?

Coffee because I live on it. I think my blood has turned to pure coffee at this point, and that’s completely fine with me. Black? Mocha? Sling it over here.

Quills because there are three definitions that work for me. Of course, the tiny, sharp quills of a hedgehog (Mace, my little writing buddy, is down below). The feathered writing quill designating a place for writers to flock to. And, possibly a little known fact-cinnamon quills, which I wish I could find here in Tokyo. I can’t.
